Orientation Programme

The Department of Botany, organised an Induction Programme for the newly admitted Undergraduate and Postgraduate Semester I students on  7 August 2025 with the objective of welcoming them to the university and acquainting them with the academic environment, facilities, and opportunities available.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Smita Purohit, Head of the Department, who extended greetings to the students and encouraged them to embark on their academic journey with enthusiasm and dedication. This was followed by an introduction to the rich legacy and vision of the university, its core values, and its commitment to excellence in education and research.

Faculty members of the Department presented an overview of the B.Sc. Botany curriculum, highlighting the structure of the programme, academic regulations, examination pattern, and internal assessment procedures. They also briefed students about laboratory practices, field studies, and project opportunities that would form an integral part of their learning experience.

The senior students shared their experiences, offering valuable tips on adjusting to university life, maintaining academic discipline, and actively participating in departmental events.

The faculty members engaged the students in some fun activities which helped to bridge the gap between students & faculties and made them at ease.

They were also briefed about the future prospects of Botany during the session.
