On February, 24th 2015, a trip to Nahargarh Biological Park was organized by the Department of Botany, The IIS University, Jaipur. About 40 students from undergraduate course and almost 10 students from post graduate course were accompanied by Dr. Shilpi Rijhwani (HOD), Department of Botany, The IIS University, Dr. Anuja Joshi (Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, The IIS University) and Mr. Joy Gardner (Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, The IIS University). The trip was organized on the occasion of Nature Awareness Camp. The students reached the site of Nahargarh Biological Park by, which was located near Kukas. Mr. Joy Gardner and the officials of Forest Department briefed us about the precautions that a student must undertake while visiting a Biological Park. After some refreshment, our amusing expedition of exploring nature at its peak began. Various plant species were identified by Dr. Shilpi Rijhwani. The plants were Bauhinia variegata, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Adhatod vasica,, Thuja, Cactus and Acacia spp. Their scientific description, economic importance and other points of interest were discussed. The park is a home for 25-30 bird species, from which students could notice a few birds. The park is also home for, tiger, lion and tigon which is a mix-bread of tiger & lion. We returned to the point where we started by 13:00 hours, enjoyed our lunch and left the park by 14:00 hours. So this fun-filled, knowledge full and nature friendly trip came to an end.
