Environment and Biodiversity Conservation: Act now or Regret Later

An Interactive session on Biodiversity conservation was held on 24 September 2021, by Department of Botany. Talk on the above said subject was delivered by Mr. Yadu Bhardwaj (IFS), Mr. Yadu Bhardwaj is currently serving as Indian Forest Service officer in Gujarat Cadre, appointed as Deputy Conservator of Forests in Valsad District. He actively takes part in environmental sustainability activities and shares write-ups on various environmental and Forests issues in National dailies. In this Interactive session Mr. Bhardwaj talked about various environment related issues with special emphasis on social ecological uses and dependence on forests. Deforestation related issues and various strategies to overcome and promote Afforestation. Students from BSc Sem VI, MSc Sem I and MSc Sem III students attended this informative session also at the end of talk students interacted with Mr. Bhardwaj and asked few questions about how to prepare for competitive exams and some asked about implementation of the environment related issues and personal level. Overall the session was good and students could have idea about how Forest Departments works for Forests and their related communities.
