CO57: Develop holistic competencies vis a vis verbal & written communication skill which will promote curiosity, innovation and a passion for research including critical thinking.

CO58: Acquire hands on training on various techniques of plant propagation like cutting, layering and grafting and apply it at commercial level.

CO59: Evaluate the role of garden and landscape designing with focus on garden management and local flora.

CONTENTS:

  • Field study of various plant forms- climbers, trees, shrubs, orchids, ferns and palms.
  • Experimental study of the technique of vegetative propagation-cutting, budding, grafting and air layering etc.
  • To study propagation by means of bulbs, corms, tubers, rhizome etc.
  • To study different styles of garden design.
  • Field visit to understand different patterns of landscape design.
  • To prepare an inventory of local flora.
  • To learn various types of aesthetic and indoor gardening.
  • To learn various methods of garden operation and its management.
