General characters, structure, nutrition, reproduction and economic importance, viroids, virions, general account of Cyanobacteria (Oscillatoria, Nostoc). Scope and application of microbes in agriculture, industry, food, pollution and biological control of pests.

General characters, classification, thallus organization, pigments and reserve food material, reproduction, algal biofertilizers, algae used in industry, eutrophication .

General characters, classification, economic importance, important features and life history of: Chlorophyceae: Volvox, Xanthophyceae: Vaucheria, Phaeophyceae: Ectocarpus, Rhodophyceae: Polysiphonia
