The close proximity of the Sanctuary to the city has made it prone to encroachments which have already grabbed fringe areas. Forest fires occur from November to June .Water holes are created and being maintained for easy water availability to the wild animals especially in the pinch period. Improvement of habitat is being done by way of silvicultural operations in the existing degraded vegetation and by growing grasses and fodder shrubs in the sanctuary area.Public awareness programs may help create awareness among common masses towards wildlife conservation.
