An Interactive session with Prof. Arun Arya, former Head, Deptt. of Botany,M.S.University,Vadodara was organised on 6^TH Feb. 2019.The Topic was Isolation,Culture and Identification of Fungi.

According to Prof. Arya successful isolation of Fungi from soil or plant sources, regardless of method used, requires incubation of material at suitable temperatures. The isolation technique and culture media vary among investigators. He informed the students about the use of enrichment media and recalcitrant materials for selective isolation of any fungus. Sir also explained a number of features and techniques used in fungal identification.

The students asked a lot of questions and Prof. Arya ably resolved their queries. Overall, it was a very enriching session.
